hey gorgeous... welcome to madrid
If there's anywhere as colourful as our Pride flag, it's got to be Copenhagen! This incredibly vibrant, bustling and green capital is home to some of the most drool worthy Nordic cuisine and inspiring Danish designs. Known as the City of Fairy Tales with tributes to Hans Christian Anderson (erm hellooo...Little Mermaid?) and museums holding treasures dating back to the Vikings, it really is a wonderous place to visit! Denmark is one of the most progressive countries in the world, hitting a world first in 1989 by recognising registered partnerships for same-sex couples. The beauty of the country is mirrored in the beauty and kindness of it's people and HAS to be on the list of top places to visit!

In the late 70s, Spain’s LGBT community rejoiced as homosexual activity was legalised across the country. All this meant was that they could no longer be sent down for going down after a night out – something they’d been doing since the beginning of time anyway!
Today, Spain is one of the most liberal countries in the world in terms of LGBT freedoms. In fact, according to a 2013 study by Pew Research Centre, a whopping 88% of Spanish citizens accept homosexuality. Join us in raising a glass to Spain who came out on top (or so to speak) against the 38 other countries who were polled!
why madrid?
Madrid has such a diverse range of bars to choose from. It all depends on your plans!
There's the cool and cosy Cazador, perfect for relaxing midweek drinks. Thinking of heading somewhere more lively before hitting the clubs? Then you'll want the vibrant La Kama which may start off as a bar but soon gets a club feel itself later into the night. There are even places for live indie music like Gris or catching a drag show bar like LL Bar.
Wherever you go, if you're up for a club afterwards then Black & White is a must. It's one of the longest-running gay bars in the city with two floors and three bars, open until the wee hours of the morning and with some of the best guests and artists from all over Madrid, it really is the place to be!
Pro tip: Madrid is the home city of WE Party. It's famous for its spectacular events with incredible DJ's and drop-dead gorgeous dancers. Usually hosted at La Riviera Club, if you see that We Party are on during your stay, then YOU party for sure!
There's a whole host of lesbian bars too, like Fulanita de Tal which is an absolute MUST in Madrid for any electronica/house fans. There's also TRUCO and ESCAPE but get there early, you can always expect a queue at weekends!
